We have arrived in Ely(pronounced eel-e) Cardiff on Sunday morning (28th Dec).
The first leg of the flight from Melbourne to Hong Kong was good, plenty of food and drink, movies, etc...
After an 2 hour stopover and another hour on the tarmac we began the trip to Heathrow (London).
The lights of St. Petersburg were spectacular!!
We arrived at Heathrow at 5.00 am and had no problems with going through customs and to our delight all our luggage was there in one piece.
Dave (my exchange partner) and his father-in-law Les picked us up and took us straight back to Cardiff on the M4 freeway.
There is a toll on the bridge going into Wales, Dave said there is no toll going from Wales to England because nobody would want to go that way!
In Cardiff, our first two impressions were the density of the living and the greyness of the atmosphere. Daylight at the moment is about 8 am to 4 pm.
On Sunday, Andy, Kristin and Billy went into centre of Cardiff to do some shopping - lots of people and sales - very tiring!
Declan went to the soccer, Cardiff City (Les is a member) v Plymouth (in his Collingwood colours) - he was very cold when he got home. (It is Monday night as I'm writing this and we are watching Man. United live.)
We all had very long sleeps on Sunday night! In bed by 7 pm and some woke after 9 am.
Monday morning, Andy, Billy and Declan went with Dave to the School (Michaelston Community College) to have a look around.
Monday afternoon, we all went to do more shopping - Tesco and Marks & Spencers.
We encourage everyone to make contact on Skype or via the blog. For Skype remeber there is a 11 hour difference, so 7-10 am or pm is probably the best!
Cheers!

Great to see you have all arrived safely. Lucy you need to come home straight away, the queue in Safeway is all the way to the cheese section, because you are not there. Andy, the obvious is how is the beer?
Kristin I bet there are some good hills to walk up.
Bill and Dec, Collingwood are in Crisis since you left, the herald sun has headlines everyday. What an experience to go to the soccer, and leave your Collingwood mark. Joffa would be proud.
Well done Wains you are legends, i bet work is going to be fun Andy, the bloody holidays are pretty damn good over here.

Glad to hear you arrived safely. Shame about the weather, guess what - get used to it!! Just remember long summer days still to come (not sure about the boogie boarding though). Have a great time and a happy new year.

OMG. As I know nothing about blogs I did some research to find out what is, how to and what the blogs are all about. Do you know that there are 639,000,000 sites on how to set up a blog?
Now I know more than I did yesteday, I'm thinking a blog could be a good thing. I bet there aren't too many accountants information and discussion sites. I'll have a look for any after I finish checking out the other 638,999,996 sites on how to set one up.
Happy New Year Kristin, Andy, Billy and Declan!
Enjoy the last couple of days off and good luck at school next week.
Lots of love

Hi Andy and Kristen -- I gather that Blogger tells you this message is waiting -I am not familiar with how blogs work. Good idea though.Love the pics. Your weather makes a skinny guy like me feel nice and warm even when it is only in the low twenties over here. Give my regards to Tom Jones the singer if you see him Kristen. If it gets too cold for you, go and dig ups some coal and start a fire ! Wales is good for coal. I thought I posted a comment the other day but it doesnt seem to be visible. Trying again now !Bye, Peter M
