Hi All,
We are settling in well, although the outside temperature is hard to get used to.

It was Billy's birthday yesterday (30th) and we had his favourite, Lemon Chicken, for tea. Earlier in the day we went shopping in Canton (halfway from Ely to Cardiff, about 2 km), Kristin is enjoying the shopping, whereas Billy, Declan and Andy are tolerating it!!

I'm down to about 3 times a trip of turning the wipers on to indicate - bloody french technology (renault)! Most drivers in Cardiff must have the same problem because I've seen very little use of indicators!!

We drove to Barry (a seaside resort, 10 km SW of Cardiff) - a typical English beach resort I'd imagine. The GPS ran out of power (need to get the cigarette lighter fixed) on the way but we managed to get around and get home without too much fuss.

Today (New Year's Eve) we may go to St. Fagan's and are going out tonight to see the New Year in with Sarah's family.

Dave and Sarah (the exchangees) left yesterday and we hope everyone makes them feel very welcome.

Cheers for now and I hope to put some photos up today.

Hi all
Happy birthday Bill! and happy new year to you all1

nice and quiet start to the new year here, with cool snd overcast conditions

our new year was very tame - we saw a movie (slumdog millionire)with julie and then went to friends for the countdown.

Mads, Ciaran and Nick were at Moggs Creek and Jules was out and about.
probably still is.

we are off to aireys inlet tomorrow, so hoping the weather heats up - supposed to!

Dick and I went on the Southern Star last week - I'll send some photos - views of melbourne from the top - when we get to London, we might go on the Eye and compare!

love Mary

Hi to the Wain Caravan of Adventure. Firstly, good on you Declan for flying the Collingwood colours.... sounds like you needed 3 jumpers on just to keep warm. Newcastle United have the same colours too. And Lucy - I am going to get a picture of you and a bit of bluetac and stick your pic on the self checkout thingos so that all of Rosebud knows why the queues are so long since you left.
Keep warm all of you -- there is a lot of coal in Wales -- you might have to go and dig some up and have a fire !!! Bye, Peter M
